Practising asana, pranayama or meditation is a lovable daily routine of Shekhar Raturi. He loves to practice yoga at home but in a traditional way. Shekhar Raturi introduced with yoga for the first time when he was in high school and found a yoga book accidently at his home. While reading out the book he came to know yoga practice can possess yoga siddhis or powers which makes you invisible or able to fly in the sky or universe or even on another planet. And this brings a turning point in his life when he decided to learn yoga and its practices. With time passed his desires get more stronger to learn yoga making him to visit many famous yoga schools and teachers in Rishikesh. To make his understanding more deepened Shekhar joined a two months yoga Vedanta course from Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh. This two-month residential course changed his mind set and approach towards yoga. He now started to practice all aspects of yoga rather than focusing on Yoga only. Yoga Vedanta course is indeed the best course and this is the reason why he always recommends to join it to every yoga seeker. He has been practicing Traditional Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga for many years now, studying with several teachers at different ashrams in Rishikesh, Thailand, Bali & Mysore, India. Aadi Shankaracharya Ji is inspiration to Shekhar. He always desires to follow Aadi Shankaracharya ji philosophy and lineage. And this is reason he practises Vedanta & Traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Meanwhile he is presently following Puri Peeth Shankaracharya Shri Swami Nishchalanand ji Maharaj. Shekhar has done 200 hours of TTC from Rishikesh Yoga Peeth, where he got inclined towards Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. His interest towards Ashtanga got so deepened that he wanted to learn and practice it. But unfortunately at that time there was no ashtanga yoga teacher at Rishikesh. When he moved to Thailand as a yoga teacher, he found the first Authorised ashtanga yoga teacher Boonchu Tanti in Bangkok. To learn more about ashtanga yoga, he decided to join Matthew Sweeney’s 300-hour Ashtanga and Moon Sequence teacher training course in Bali. His passion of practising ashtanga vinyasa took him to many world famous authorised ashtanga yoga teachers such as Louise Ellis, Sirilak, Chompeeya, Nawarat. At the end he decided to move to Mysore to practise under the guidance of Shri Sharath Jois ji and spent there almost 3 months & He finds joy in travelling and sharing his knowledge and experience with honest practitioners, and so far, has brought him to China, Thailand, Vietnam and various places in India where he has shared his experience and knowledge of Yoga.
